Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Commerce, CPA
After completing her Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce at Macquarie University, Kavita undertook her CPA qualification. She joined Pacific Brands as a senior financial accountant, and then worked for Hanson (Heidelberg Cement Group), first in a senior financial position and then as a senior consultant. It was toward the end of this time that Kavita and Raj formulated the conception of Indesign, and launched it in 1999.
She has been guiding the financial affairs of the business since its inception as one print magazine, Indesign, across its fourteen years of growth into a digital, web and print publishing house and event production company of international standing, Indesign Media Asia Pacific.
Master of Arts (Literature)
Adele showed her ability for organising large-scale operations at a young age. When she was just out of high school, she helped institute a German-Turkish cultural exchange program, running guided tours across both countries. While studying between Germany, the UK and Italy (where she lived for two years), Adele regularly helped to organise international film festivals in Germany. She began working in publishing whilst completing a Masters in Comparative Literature at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, where she was assistant to one of the university's publishers.
This would prepare her for when she came to Australia in 2000, initially to edit an artist's biography. From there, she re-entered publishing, working for Horwitz Publications and Murdoch Books before joining Indesign in 2007, where she facilitated the company's growth from two magazines and one event to an entire stable of digital and print publications, websites and successful event formats, and the company's expansion into SouthEast Asia. Adele works across the operations of the Sydney headquarters, and the Singapore and Hong Kong offices.
